Our Story

We have come a long way in the last 10 years, so here is our story…

Our Award Winning Team

2013

With over 13 years’ experience Rebecca Morgan-Brennan (Founder & Company Director) a highly qualified hairdresser started her journey with wigs after a close friend came to her to ask for advice regarding her hair loss following a breast cancer diagnosis. Rebecca opened Morgan’s Hair and Beauty in July 2013 after working in and owning other hair salons.

Seeing her friend go through such a difficult journey, losing her hair and the challenges associated with feeling good and confident whilst being treated, inspired Rebecca into helping others that were suffering from a medical hair loss condition.

Whether it’s due to chemotherapy, radiology, alopecia, genetics, pattern baldness, stress, lupus, menopause, thinning hair, gender transition or other hair loss problems, Morgan’s mission is to ensure an inclusive approach to helping those living with and suffering from hair loss.

2014/15

Rebecca incorporated Morgan’s Wigs to be a part of a wider offering at the salon in January 2014 meaning that there was a comprehensive wig service for people across the North Wales coast based at Morgan’s Hair & Beauty in Prestatyn.

2016

In 2016 Morgan’s tendered for an NHS wig contract in North Wales so that patients from Betsi Cadawaldr are now able to use their patient vouchers when purchasing a wig.

2017/18

The Chester salon opens in Hoole, a small and exclusive hub just outside the city centre.

Following the tender in late 2016, a contract was awarded in January 2017, and has been every year since, meaning patients from the 3 main hospitals in North Wales can visit Morgan’s and be seen by the dedicated team at Morgan’s.

Soon after this successful tender – the process was repeated in other regions meaning that Morgan’s can now supply wigs across Cheshire and North Wales.

Our service in both our Chester and Prestatyn salons offer total privacy and confidence for all who visit us. Our client’s privacy is paramount. We are also able to offer a mobile service for all clients throughout Gwynedd.

2019

In 2019 Morgan’s were thrilled to achieve Disability confident supplier status – this is a government led scheme that seeks to create a movement of change, encouraging employers to think differently about disability, taking action on recruiting, retaining and developing people with a disability.

Realising the power and the potential a business can have with an inclusive approach to employment is something Morgan’s are proud to be a part. It’s such a great initiative.

Morgan’s also welcomed Neil Brennan, Rebecca’s husband! A brilliant cog in this truly family run business, Neil looks after everything that makes sure the salons continue to run smoothly. An absolute essentail to the smooth flow of the business.

2020

This was the year that hit many, many businesses very hard, due to the worldwide pandemic of Covid-19. Morgan’s wig provision and support for Cancer patients and those suffering from medical hair loss continued; first of all Rebecca held consultations via video from her own home, setting up a mock wig salon with lots on display so clients could see what could work for them, and then applied for a special licence to ensure the services could continue from her salon locations through the government mandated lockdown.

Despite the world being in upheaval, they were thrilled to win an award during this tough year! Being crowned winners of the Wales Social Enterprise and Community Award of the Year at the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards!

2021

With a new lockdown continuing into the new year, Rebecca and the team forged ahead with their ambitions to create a bigger and better place for the people of Cheshire and beyond to seek hair loss advice and solutions.

In April 2021, Rebecca opened the premises in the historic Tudor House right in the centre of Chester – one of the oldest buildings in the city.

2022

Another amazing year for Morgan’s and their team. They renovated the space above the Chester salon and opened their brand new Morgan’s Training Academy to further help teach everything hair loss, wigs and integration to hairdressers and barbers across the country.

It was a year filled with awards for Morgan’s, with them being nominated for five awards overall winning four of the five. One of these awards (The Cheshire Businesses Awards 2022) also led to Morgan’s receiving a ten thousand pound investment from Pace Capital Investments towards the business. An absolutely unbelievable moment for the whole team and they couldn’t thank everyone enough for all the support they received. The money will be used to fund the development of an app to provide people all over the world with the hair loss advice and knowledge they deserve.

2023

With the new NHS contract coming round, we were proud to announce that we are now NHS suppliers for the whole of Wales (and we think the biggest supplier in Wales too!)

We also attended the Salon Awards 2023, after both our salons being nominated for ‘Best Salon’ award. Of course, we were absolutely honoured to have came home having won the award for both our locations!
